Fun and Creative Projects

Over the past few years, especially since I gave up my boring and stressful daily job and became a stay at home or rather work at home mom, I have taken a special interest in the crafting world. I have always loved to craft whether it was paper crafts or digital crafts but one craft i have never had an interest in was sewing.  That is until for our first Mothers Day together, my hubby bought me a sewing machine.  You should have been there when I opened up the box and looked at this amazing machine.  I was like Oh Boy what am I gonna do with this thing? This thing was unlike any other sewing machine I had ever seen before... not only did it have so many stitches but it also did embroidering (which secretly I was interested in learning but never told anyone).  My hubby and I were working on starting a small t shirt business and embroidering would be perfect.  So I played around with the machine for a little bit, i gave it a chance.  I embroidered some t shirts (turned out great) and I made a pair of curtains for my bathroom.... I soon discovered that sewing was not my thing.  So I gave up, packed the machine away for several years and never looked back.  That is until last summer.  I pulled that machine out of it's original box and discovered my love for sewing.  Do you know the phrase 'Practice makes perfect'?  Well it's so true.  No I am not perfect but I have fallen in love with a craft that seems to be almost forgotten.  I think it is because people have such busy and hectic schedules that buying a shirt from Walmart seems to be the easiest thing when it comes to new clothes.  People just do not have a lot of time or money to spend on sewing their own clothes or other items. It might not be any of that at all, some of my friends just simply do not have the interest in sewing.

Recently I took an old sheet that had a hole in it and turned it into night gowns for my little princesses.  The project was so much fun that I cannot wait to do another!

Check back often because I will be posting more fun projects!
